IHOP in Northborough, MA

I love breakfast food so very very much.  I also love lots of food for low prices.  If you could somehow combine these two loves, I'd be looking at one hour of bliss.

As part of my day off, my son and I decided to start at the newly opened IHOP in Northborough, MA.  Our current closest IHOP is a bit older and run down with an open kitchen taking up most of the space.  Thus when I can convince my wife to join me for a Sunday breakfast there (or a breakfast for dinner) the place is completely crowded.  Fine when its just us, disaster with two small children.  So given an early morning on a Monday in a new location, I figured that there would be no way we'd have to wait for a table.
And we didn't! Within moments we were both sitting down, ready to order.  Gravitating towards the value aspect of my food, I ordered the cheesy western omelet (which comes with 3 pancakes) for only seven bucks! Owen ordered strawberry pancakes with bacon and home fries.  I am very blessed to have a child who loves breakfast as much as his father.

The food in question

Get thoroughly thick pancakes, butter, and syrup, and all pancakes are the best thing ever.  My omelet came with the traditional ham, peppers, and onions as well as a cheese sauce.  While the food was pretty good, it felt slightly cold making the cheese more gooshy than delicious.  Owen's home fries were nicely fried, not too oily, but, sadly, not overly seasoned.  Great with ketchup, though.

The IHOP space was very open and bright, befitting its newness and its location.  All of the staff were friendly and courteous, multiple waitresses coming over to complement my son on his general handsomeness.  I even found myself in a conversation with our waitress about apple season, which I rarely do unless I feel a real pleasant vibe.

So, I'm a bit torn.  It's hard to deny that I enjoyed my breakfast because I nearly always enjoy breakfast.  But there was some room for improvement in my omelet which, despite the other positive aspects of the experience, must be taken into consideration.  That leaves us with a split Really Good / OK.  My son expressed his review more succinctly: deliciouso (I'm told that's Spanish for "delicious").

Guess I have no choice but to go back to follow-up on this review.  Oh, well.

  2. I'm amazed, I must say. Rarely do I encounter a blog that's both educative and amusing, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head.

The issue is something not enough people are speaking intelligently about.
Now i'm very happy I found this during my hunt for something regarding this.

  6. Hmm it seems like your website ate my first comment (it was
super long) so I guess I'll just sum it up what I wrote and say, I'm thoroughly
enjoying your blog. I too am an aspiring blog writer but I'm still new to everything. Do you have any suggestions for inexperienced blog writers? I'd certainly appreciate it.

  9. Heya this is kinda of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have
to manually code with HTML. I'm starting a blog soon but have no coding skills so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
